Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026 · Applies to the Persona Discord application
The short version. We store your Discord user ID, your test answers and your results. We do not
store your messages, your email, or anything you didn't deliberately put into a test. We don't sell anything, we
don't run ads, and we don't train models on your data. You can export or delete everything at any time with
/privacy.
1. Who we are
Persona is a free, independently funded Discord application built and operated by polarissoulcode ("we", "us"). There is no company behind it and no investor. For any privacy question, contact us through the support channel linked from the bot's Discord profile.
2. What we collect
Only what the features need. Nothing is collected passively.
| Data | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Discord user ID | To attach your results to you | Until you delete it |
| Test answers (raw) | To score results, and to re-score them if we improve the scoring | Until you delete it |
| Test results & profile | For /profile, /compare and auto-roles | Until you delete it |
| Server ID a test was taken in | Optional per-server statistics | Until you delete it |
| Server config (role mappings) | To run auto-roles | Until the bot leaves the server |
/ask conversation turns | So follow-up questions have context | Automatically deleted after 30 days |
| In-progress test state | To remember where you are mid-test | 15 minutes, then discarded |
What we do not collect
- Your messages. The bot does not request Discord's Message Content intent and cannot read channel messages.
- Your email address, real name, IP address, or payment details.
- Voice data, attachments, or anything from servers where you haven't used the bot.
- Analytics or tracking cookies on this website. There are none.
3. Why we're allowed to hold it
Under the UK/EU GDPR our lawful basis is consent: nothing is stored about you until you choose to
run a command. You withdraw that consent at any time with /privacy delete, which erases everything
immediately.
4. Who can see your results
By default your profile is public within Discord — other members can run /profile @you
or /compare @you. Run /privacy visibility setting: Private and nobody but you can view it or
compare against it.
Auto-role features assign visible Discord roles based on your results. That is enabled per-server by an administrator, and any role you are given is visible to that server's members. If you don't want that, set your profile to private before taking tests in that server.
5. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell, rent or trade your data. It is shared in exactly one circumstance:
When you use /ask, your question and a structured summary of your profile (your type, function
scores and confidence) are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. We use Poe by Quora as the
gateway to frontier language models. Your Discord ID is not sent. Review
Poe's privacy policy if you'd like to know how
they handle inference data. If you never run /ask, nothing ever leaves our infrastructure.
6. Your rights
You can exercise all of these yourself, instantly, from inside Discord:
- Access & portability —
/privacy exportreturns a complete JSON file of everything we hold, including your raw answers. - Erasure —
/privacy deletepermanently removes your profile, every result, and your conversation history. It is not recoverable. - Restriction —
/privacy visibilitycontrols who can see your profile. - Rectification — retake any test; the new result replaces the old one in your profile.
If a server administrator removes the bot, that server's configuration is deleted. Your personal results are not — they belong to you, not to the server, and remain available in every other server.
7. Security & retention
Data is held in a private database that is not publicly reachable. Access is limited to the operator named above.
We keep data only while you have an account with the bot; abandoned in-progress tests are discarded after 15 minutes
and /ask history is deleted automatically after 30 days.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will publish a notice in the support server promptly.
8. Children
Persona follows Discord's own minimum age requirement for your country (13+ in most places, higher in some). We do not knowingly store data from anyone below it. If you believe a child's data is stored, contact us and we'll remove it.
9. Not a medical service
Persona produces personality-typology results for self-reflection and entertainment. They are not medical, psychiatric or psychological assessments, are not a diagnosis, and must not be used to make decisions about anyone's health, employment or relationships. We do not process health data as defined by GDPR Article 9.
10. Changes
If we change this policy materially we'll announce it in the support server before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
